Patient communication and messaging Practices

Maple Tree Health partners with medical practices to support patient care coordination and follow-up communication. As a HIPAA-compliant Business Associate, Maple Tree Health may contact patients on behalf of their provider’s office as part of ongoing care.

Patients receive communications only if they have an existing relationship with the medical practice and have provided consent to be contacted. Messaging may include notifications to review secure messages, appointment reminders, and other care-related follow-up.

SMS messages are typically used to notify patients that they have a secure message from their provider and to provide a link to access a HIPAA-compliant messaging platform for further communication.

Patients may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP.
